d. Sacrament: Restored order of sacraments – Confirmation will be celebrated in gr. 2 along with 1st Eucharist as a sacrament of initiation not a sacrament of maturity.

1. Meeting called to order at 7:25pm.
2. Adopt November minutes motion by Melody, 2nd by Leanne, all in favour
3. Treasurer Report: Motion to adopt treasure report by Darlene, 2nd by Katrina
4. Community Report: Dec 6 Santa Pancake breakfast had approx 100 people attend
5. Parish Report: Not present
6. Hot Lunch Report: Next lunch will be in February and will be a pizza lunch
7. Fundraising: Look at raffle table at February Family Dance
8. Western Pizza: Coupons will continue to be sent out & funds raised to go towards school AR program
9. Pre-School Report: New student starting in January, Kim on vacation for 2 weeks, sub arranged
10. Principle Report: Thanks to CSCC for funding Christmas Concert venue. Requesting suggestions for different locations for next year as cost of the facility has gone up substantially. Suggested grade K-5 have a Christmas concert and hold it at St Gregory. Grades 6-8 can hold a play production on a different night not related to Christmas. This would reduce the amount of people trying to attend in one night. Other suggestion was to have performance done in individual classrooms.
11. Teacher Report: none present
12. Communications Report: going well
13. Old Business:
Spirit wear – All embroidered items are complete. Getting final orders delivered. $20 from used clothing sale to go to babysitting fund
School Reader Board – reviewed quotes and pictures of options. Will vote at next meeting what sign/company we want to go with. Look at a spring installation.
Sacramental Gifts-all purchased will present to students in January. Need list from Dilhi.
Pat’s Family Fun Night – Jan 23 @700pm vs Couteny Ice. Order forms to be handed out Jan 5, add to communications report. Need orders/money back by Jan 14 and will distribute tickets to student week of Jan 19. Deb will organize the signing group to sign the national anthem at the game.
Family Dance – Feb 11 for all students and families of St Gregory to attend. Momentum Productions will DJ, cost is $250. Will set up after 330pm. Teachers will run the canteen at the dance. Will set up a Raffle Table & 50/50 draws.
Family Reading Night – look at proceeding in January

You can also expect to see this year’s advertising campaign “Thinking of Kindergarten?” popping up on local transit buses..

New Kindergarten Registration for 2009/10
If you have a child turning 5 years old by December 2009, he/she is eligible for Kindergarten registration for the 2009/10 school year. Please contact Mrs. Dunn at the school by phoning 791-7340 to set up an appointment for registering your son or daughter. We require a birth certificate, baptism certificate and health card of your child.
Making an appointment is very important to ensure that your child experiences a positive welcome to their new school.

 Classroom skating – skate tying & supervising (as per classroom letters)

Martha Kaufeldt is a veteran K-12 teacher, author, and popular international presenter on brain compatible learning, differentiated instruction and integrated curriculum development. In California she served as the director and trainer for the Bay Area Middle Schools project for five years. For over 23 years Martha put her expertise into practice on a daily basis as a High School English and Drama teacher, a Middle School Humanities Core teacher, and as the Lead Teacher at an alternative public elementary school in Santa Cruz County. Martha is skillful in translating recent brain research and how it should guide educational and parenting practices. Audiences appreciate her personable and humorous style.
