We celebrate the Christmas Season until the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord
on January 11th.
Merry Christmas to our Ukrainian brothers and sister who celebrate the Birth of the Lord on January 7th.

Seasons Greetings, from your Regina Catholic School Division Board of Trustees! We hope you have had a restful Christmas break and are looking forward to the remainder of the 2008-2009 school year!

Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten registration is now underway at all of our twenty-three elementary schools. To register your child for Kindergarten or Pre-Kindergarten classes please contact your local school or call the Catholic Education Centre at 791-7200. You can also expect to see this year’s advertising campaign “Thinking of Kindergarten?” popping up on local transit buses..

The Regina Catholic School Division Board of Trustees is committed to Quality Catholic Education and will take every opportunity to meet with Catholic School Community Councils. If you are interested in having a Board Member make a presentation or attend your CSCC meeting, please contact the Board of Trustees through Pat Rose at 791-7219.

New Kindergarten Registration for 2009/10
If you have a child turning 5 years old by December 2009, he/she is eligible for Kindergarten registration for the 2009/10 school year. Please contact Mrs. Dunn at the school by phoning 791-7340 to set up an appointment for registering your son or daughter. We require a birth certificate, baptism certificate and health card of your child.
Making an appointment is very important to ensure that your child experiences a positive welcome to their new school.

We always appreciate parent, family & community support.
Please register to offer your help with any of the following:
 Classroom skating – skate tying & supervising (as per classroom letters)
 Gr. 1-3 reading partners (call the office for details)
 Gr. 6-8 activity projects (invitation letters sent home)



Teacher Professional Development Days
Two Day Conference - Thurs. Jan. 29 & 30th

Teachers will have the opportunity to be introduced to new brain-compatible learning and differentiated instruction by Martha Kaufeldt
And to develop strategies to have “Significant Conversations” with young people
by Jerry Goebel.
Parents are invited to attend the evening session

Martha Kaufeldt is a veteran K-12 teacher, author, and popular international presenter on brain compatible learning, differentiated instruction and integrated curriculum development. In California she served as the director and trainer for the Bay Area Middle Schools project for five years. For over 23 years Martha put her expertise into practice on a daily basis as a High School English and Drama teacher, a Middle School Humanities Core teacher, and as the Lead Teacher at an alternative public elementary school in Santa Cruz County. Martha is skillful in translating recent brain research and how it should guide educational and parenting practices. Audiences appreciate her personable and humorous style.
