It’s back! For the month of May, Mayor Pat Fiacco is challenging students aged 5 to 15 to collectively read millions of minutes. We are hoping to meet or beat last year’s record of over 10 million minutes spent reading!
Important Contest Information
How to Enter: Track the amount of time you have read on the Reading Log entry form given to you by your classroom teacher. Complete all sections on the form and place it in the Mayor’s Mega-Minute Reading Challenge bin found in St. Gregory’s library or you can drop it off at any of the Regina Public Libraries. You can get more Reading Logs from your teacher, Mrs. Dalrymple (teacher-librarian), or by visiting the contest website.
When: The contest runs from May 1st to May 31st, 2009. The deadline to return
reading logs is May 31st.

Individual Prizes
Grand Prize: a trip to a California theme park for four people plus
$500 spending money
Major Prizes:
- $500 gift certificate to an electronics store (2 awarded)
- Bicycle (approximate value $350) (2 awarded)
Weekly Prizes:
- Fifteen $25 gift certificates from bookstore will be drawn each week
SCHOOL PRIZES
The top twelve classrooms that have read the most minutes as a class will be invited to one of two special screenings of the Disney/Pixar movie "UP", a 3D animated feature.
